THE SILICON VALLEY BUS.

Silicon Valley Startup Bus 2012

Tech DNA: we've got it. In Silicon Valley and San Francisco overheard cafe conversations often include "API", "Series A", and "it's like Yelp for dogs." It's hard to escape the meetups and hackathons that make this the ecosystem that other cities and countries try to copy. Innovative ideas are driven by smart Stanford and Berkeley graduates, who mix with San Francisco freethinkers and immigrants to start new businesses every day. It all began when Silicon Valley's orchards were turned into top secret Cold War research labs, then to silicon wafers, and finally web & consumer tech.

The inaugural StartupBus departed from SF in 2010, and each year we have raised the bar. Last year's San Francisco and Silicon Valley buses killed it; we had the co-winning team WalkIn demo an amazing mobile & iPad app built in 72 hours. We also had two finalists: Bouncr & FlyByMiles. Bouncr had a launch party, got covered on Mashable, and had 2,000+ users by the finals. FlyByMiles hustled a deal with a European data provider in Austin and got multiple VCs interested after StartupBus.

This year we're going to do a clean sweep, but we need YOU - assuming you're an incredibly motivated designer, developer or biz hustler. If you think you can take it from pitch to MVP while rolling at 65mph, apply NOW.

Your fearless conductor will be Josh Schwartzman. Josh is an entrepreneur and world traveler. Raised on a farm, he started his first business at age 14. Now a Rails, iOS dev and hustler, he took 16 months off to travel the world and got back a year ago, and he can't wait to go again. StartupBus is an awesome community of doers that he's proud to be a part of. He is leading community development, and rode the Silicon Valley bus in 2011 where he pitched and led FlyByMiles to the finals last year.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be interviewed starting mid-February. Apply now to make sure you get on board.
