Waking up in California for the last time this week, team Expensieve made the trek across Arizona with the rest of the Silicon Valley StartUp Bus. With a BBQ pit stop in Phoenix, Arizona (thanks to the awesome group at GangPlank for hosting!), we had a chance to sit down and work (these buspreneurs had REAL chairs for an hour to work with!) and seek out some perspective from the mentors at GangPlank (thanks to @kcdlegal, @WadeAndrews, @conrey, and @pblackerby for spending some time with us!).
We made some significant process today, with designer Joanna Chao making some finishing touches on the framework for our mobile app, and iOS developer Emre implementing it (its simplicity is pretty awesome! #unbiased). The Expensieve mobile app will let you snap a picture of your receipt, categorize it, input key values (vendor, cost, additional memos) you’d like, with the ability to search and filter through them in our web interface (thanks to Bryan and Brandon for taking the lead there!).
As we see things come together, what’s exciting is to think about all the possibilities of where we’ll go next (signs of a sustainable product?) … with the core idea of making “receipt management” for taxes as simple as possible, we’re looking at ways to integrate with services like Quicken and Freshbooks (and a couple other surprise integrations to come …).
