Expensieve is expense tracking for freelancers

Who should car e about this?

Despite a growing shift to eCommerce, paper receipts still play a large role in our economy, and are especially important for freelancers who need to track expenses for business and tax purposes. Especially for busy freelancers on the go, receipts often end up in multiple locations, stuffed in pockets or boxes and folders in home offices and hallways.

Come tax time, they are left to sift through stacks of receipts accumulated throughout the year, often resulting in lost deductions (online credit card statements help, but a physical receipt is needed for IRS tax purposes).

While many freelancers can now turn to credit card statements to track business expenses, no application currently exists to address the tax needs of freelancers.  Our product focuses solely on simplifying the organization of these receipts, putting them into the cloud so they are searchable, wherever you may go.

Even for those who prefer to keep paper receipts, they have a tendency to fade over time, and a digital application helps provide the backup they need.

Meet Team Expensieve: Simplifying Your Receipt Management Experience

We’ve given you a sneak peak of what Expensieve is all about but who is the team behind it?This was the first key mlestone together as we’ve started out on this cross-state journey two days.

Meet team Expensieve, a group of individuals passionate about simplifying the lives of freelancers by making receipt management for taxes easier, transferring your paper receipts out of your pocket and into the cloud.

Brandon Weiss is a freelance Ruby developer who loves snowboarding in the winter and bike-riding by day. His freelance lifestyle gives him the ability to pursue individual startup initiatives. He hates receipt tracking.

Joanna Chao is a San Francisco-based designer who freelances across a number of projects.She helps develop our visual brand, keeping it consistently simple.

Bryan Estrada is a front end visual designer based out of San Francisco and a master of detail.

Emre Ergenkon is our resident iOS developer, helping execute a flawless mobile app instance, providing greater simplicity for our users. Originally from Sweden, Emre enjoys working on custom projects with his fellow team of Sweden-based (for the moment) developers.

Wendy Qi is the team’s media and marketing lead, sharing Expensieve’s story with freelancers everywhere. She is a freelance writer and was a one-time accountant.

With April 15 looming ahead just around the corner from SxSW, “taxes” will soon be on everyone’s minds. But where are those receipts that help track this?

Introducing  Expensieve, a receipt-management platform meant to capture and track receipts, transferring your paper receipts out of your pocket and into the cloud.
